On May 31,2007, it was announced there were plans to build "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" a Harry Potter theme park, has been set to be released in late 2009-early 2010.

Here are some of the things we know about the theme park:
  1. Universal came to Warner Bros. with the proposal, who then met with J.K. Rowling before making the announcement.
  2. J.K. Rowling has been involved since the beginning, and has been "Supportive and encouraging".
  3. The set designer for all Harry Potter movies, Stuart Craig, is going to have a great influence in the project, as is J.K. Rowling.
  4. Areas of the Park are to include Hogsmeade, Hogwarts, and the forbidden forest.
  5. There are 20 expert enginners working on the vast project, not to mention the tremendous amount of workers.
  6. They have been discussing the project for 2 years, and have given it a lot of thought and energy.

J.K. Rowling's Thoughts on the Theme Park

The plans I've seen look incredibly exciting, and I don't think fans of the books or films will be disappointed.

The park will feature immersive rides and interactive attractions, as well as experiential shops and restaurants that will enable guests to sample fare from the wizarding world's best known establishments. Also debuting will be a state-of-the-art attraction that will bring the magic, characters, and stories of Harry Potter to life in an exciting way that guests have never before experienced.
