Chapter by Chapter 1/17: The Man with Two Faces

Here is the last chapter is the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone, The-Portkey's Chapter by Chapter will continue with Chamber of Secrets.

Chapter 17: The Man with Two Faces

It’s Professor Quirrell who's waiting for Harry in the last room. He reveals that all this time Snape was trying to stop him, not take the Stone for himself, and it was Quirrell who tried to kill Harry at the Quidditch match, not Snape. Harry is dumbfounded by all this, and doesn’t know what to do.

He tells Harry that the Sorcerer’s Stone is hidden in the enchanted mirror that Harry looked in months before, and Harry starts furiously working out how to get the Stone before Quirrell does. When he finally manages a look in the mirror, the Stone drops mysteriously into his pocket, unbeknownst to Quirrell.

Harry is horrified when, a few minutes later, Quirrell undoes the turban wrapped around his head and Voldemort peers out at him. They begin to fight and Quirrell finds out he can’t touch Harry without suffering intense pain. Harry tries to fight him longer, hoping to stay alive, but he passes out.

He wakes up in the hospital wing with Dumbledore sitting by his bed, smiling. He finds that Dumbledore arrived just in time to save him, and that the Stone has been destroyed. Harry questions Dumbledore about why his parents were killed, but Dumbledore refuses to answer, saying that Harry will know when he is older. However, Dumbledore does explain that the reason that Professor Quirrell cannot touch him is because Harry's mother died to save him, leaving a protection of love, witch is one thing that Voldemort cannot understand. When he leaves the hospital wing, Harry is thrilled to see Ron and Hermione again and to find out they’re both all right.

Things absolutely can’t get any better when, the next night at the end of the year feast, the efforts of Harry, Hermione, and Ron earn Gryffindor enough points to surpass Slytherin and win the House Cup. It’s by far the best night of Harry’s life.

Check back soon, when we'll start the Chamber of Secrets!

Emma Watson Talks Her Education in New Interview

In a new interview with The Telegraph, Emma Watson talked about the importance of balancing out her education with her acting.

"I would like to go to university and complete a degree and so that will mean a break from acting," Miss Watson, who has made more than £10 million thus far from the Harry Potter franchise, told The Telegraph.

"I've always tried to balance my education with my acting career, but I just don't think it will be possible to juggle it with a degree course. I have a need now to study."

Her spokesman denied she is giving up acting for good but confirmed that "any future projects will take second place to University. Her first commitment will be to her course".

Chapter by Chapter 1/16: Through the Trapdoor

Here it is, and we apologize for the delay, the 16th and pivotal edition in The-Portkey.com's Chapter by Chapter, today we cover Chapter 16 in the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone: Through the Trapdoor.

Chapter 16: Through the Trapdoor

Harry finally gets through his exams, but suddenly figures out that Hagrid let it slip to a complete stranger how to get past Fluffy. He realizes that the stranger who gave Hagrid the dragon egg was either Snape or Voldemort himself. When Harry races to find Dumbledore he’s shocked to find out the Headmaster is gone. He resolves to try to get to the Stone first so Snape can’t steal it, and he’s bolstered when Ron and Hermione offer to go with him.

When they get to Fluffy they see that Snape already got past the dog. When they sneak past and jump through the door they land on a dangerous plant, Devil’s Snare. Thanks to Hermione’s quick thinking they narrowly avoid becoming entangled, and continue onward toward the Stone.

They then have to catch a winged key to get through the next door, and the next challenge is a gigantic chess game. Thanks to Ron’s brilliancy at chess, they play their way across, but Ron is knocked unconscious at the end and they have to leave him behind.

When Hermione helps him through the last challenge, Harry must go on alone. When he finally makes it into the last room, he’s surprised to find neither Snape nor Voldemort has come for the Stone.

Check back in the next day or two, when we'll cover the final chapter in the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone: The Man with Two Faces.

Leaked Half-Blood Prince Script Information Emerges Online

Earlier this month, a member of the Harry Potter Forums made available pieces of the Half-Blood Prince script. To prove he was legitimate, he posted this this call sheet.

While his reports have now been deleted, we have for you a summary of what was said, without giving away to many spoilers.

SPOILER ALERT!

The pieces are about two scenes in the film. The first one would be the visit made by the Weasleys, Harry and Hermione to the store owned by Fred and George, the Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes. The second one is held on Christmas, on the night before the attack to the Burrow, scene that, although it is not in the books, David Yates felt would be nice to be in the film.

Furthermore, the user said that the death of Aragog is also in the movie, and that Dobby and Kreacher were cut out, since their names are not in the roll-list he has.

According to him, Draco seems to be very present and, as in the books, Harry suspects of him, but the film actually shows Draco working in the Room, different from the book, where we are only told about that. And concludes: the kiss between Harry and Ginny is not sad.

It is unclear as to how the user obtained this information, but due to later information provided by those who saw the Advance Screening of the film, the information seems extremely reliable.

David Heyman Talks Harry Potter in Multiple Interviews

In conjunction with his new movie project, Boy in the Stripped Pajamas, David Heyman has conducted several interviews with various websites.

This from The-Leaky-Cauldron:

After the news broke on the decision to move the film until next year, fans were very upset and (WB president) Alan Horn weighed in with his thoughts on this matter. Have you any words that you as the producer can say to those fans who are still very upset and concerned their feelings and dedication to the series are not being taken seriously?

David Heyman: The fact is that my passion and that of everybody who works on the film is undiminished. It is called ‘the film business’ and the reason why Warner Bros moved the date was for business reasons. Because of the writer’s strike and other factors in Hollywood there was not the pipeline of material for next year that they needed. They had a very big year with The Dark Knight and they needed a big film for 2009 and Harry Potter filled that slot. I appreciate the disappointment, I really do. As a film maker it is always nice to finish a film and move on to the next. But I think that the film will not be hurt by this experience at all. The studio has always been, and remains, committed to the film in every way. If the film had come out in November this year, there would have been a two year wait for the first part of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows. What now will happen is that there will be a two year gap between Order Of The Phoenix and The Half Blood Prince and there will only be, in ball park terms, a 16 month gap between Half Blood Prince and the first part of The Deathly Hallows. The Deathly Hallows is coming out in exactly the same schedule as was originally planned and we are starting principal photography in February as planned. So nothing has changed with the other films. As opposed to there being a two year gap between Five and Six, there will now be a two year gap between Six and Seven.

To read the full interview with Leaky, click here, also there are interviews from HPANA, SnitchSeeker, and HP's Page.

Additionally, we would like to apologize for the lack of updates this past week, I was out of town, and our other staffers are busy with university, but we can promise to be back to normal starting now!

Rupert Grint talks Cherrybomb, his Birthday, and Twilight in New Interview

In a new interview, Rupert Grint talks Cherrybomb, his 20th birthday, and Twilight.

Rupert talks briefly about the scene in which he takes his clothes off in Cherrybomb:

Recent reports about this famous redhead stripping down for his upcoming film "Cherrybomb" had Rupert grinning, "No, actually it was really cool, even though that was a very intense kind of scary moment. I was nervous but everything came out great."

He talks about his 20th birthday party, as well as some presents he got from fellow Potter actors:

We quickly asked him how he spent his 20th birthday a few weeks ago? Beaming, Rupert mentioned spending time with family and friends and that he got a call from his pal Daniel Radcliffe early that morning with birthday wishes. "And Emma sent me a really cool drawing she did over the summer and also a silver chain that was sort of a joke between us."

Finally he mentioned that he still keeps in contact with Goblet of Fire co-star, Robert Pattinson (Cedric Diggory), as well as mentioning his interest in the Twilight book series:

After replying to the text message, we found out that Rupert recently lost a bet to actor Robert Pattinson, who was once part of the Harry Potter cast in a previous film, and insisted that Rupert read the bestselling book. Rupert is now "stuck reading 'Twilight'" and that Rob was just texting him to see how far along he was getting. Rupert admitted he had only read the first five chapters of the bestselling book and we just informed him that there were three more books in the series. "No, really, are you serious? I thought there was just this one book?" Only now realizing he has to read three more, Rupert took his phone out and sent another message to Rob. By the looks of things, we can bet it wasn't a very pleasant message.

Dan Radcliffe Talks Equus, Career in New Interview

In a new interview with the International Herald Tribune, Daniel Radcliffe talks about his upcoming run with Equus which is currently in previews on Broadway, as well as his career in general, including some wacky things written about him in the press.

In regards of choosing acting jobs, he said:

"If I went off and did another fantasy film, everyone would say, 'He's not even trying,' but if I went off and played a drug dealer, they'd say, 'God, he's trying way too hard,"' he said.
In regards to the nudity in Equus, he said:

"It never really was an issue," he said. "I don't know why, it probably should have been. I am terribly self-conscious. Although I remember I did look at my dad once and say, 'Do you think I could wear pants?"' (No, he could not.)

And finally, he listed some of the craziest things he's heard in the media about him:

"Do you want the Top 5?" he asked. He reeled them off. "One of them was how I had grown 2-foot in about five weeks," he said. "The next was that I had a stalker, which again was utter fiction. One of them was that I had asked two former SAS guards to walk my dogs," referring to an elite British military branch. "One of them was that I ordered a special beer that was brewed in a monastery in Belgium by monks. And I hate beer. And then, the best one was the fact that they said that I was having a sculpture made for the middle of my living room of me in 'Equus.'"
